Projects
The Outer Hebrides Fisheries Trust is involved in a wide variety of ongoing projects, encompassing Fisheries Management, Angling Promotion and Aquaculture.
New Projects
OHFT will always continue to carry out contract work where fisheries interests are involved, such as electrofishing and habitat surveys. As well as our long term and ongoing projects, we have an ever changing background of smaller projects being carried out. These can be one time restorations and clean ups, the latest fundraising events, or collaborations with working groups and other corporations.

In partnership with Atlantic Salmon Trust, Sea Trout are tagged to gain a better understanding of their movements at all age stages and a clear insight into their migration routes and behaviour.

Fisheries Management projects incorporate electrofishing and habitat surveys, genetic analysis, bio security planning and education.

Angling Promotion projects include youth and community angling events, acting as a focal point for angling tourism (Fish Hebrides website) and Catch and Release competition.
Aquaculture projects include post smolt surveys on behalf of RAFTS, which monitor sea lice burdens on wild sea trout, and attendance at AMA meetings.
During the summer months, the Outer Hebrides Fisheries Trust carry out post smolt sea lice monitoring surveys with the aim of monitoring sea lice burdens on wild salmonids during the wild smolt run
